Heading to the Last Frontier – Driving the Alaska Highway

Driving from Dawson Creek, British Columbia to Delta Junction, Alaska

We’re excited about heading to Alaska for the first time! We drove from our home base in Minneapolis through North Dakota and then north through eastern Montana and into Canada. After three days and 1800 miles of driving we were finally at the start of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek!

We’ll be driving the full length of the highway, all the way from Dawson Creek, British Columbia to Delta Junction, Alaska and then spending around five weeks in Alaska, including stops in Denali National Park, Seward and Kenai Fjords National Park, Wrangell St. Elias National Park, Haines, ande then Juneau, Gustavus and Glacier Bay National Park before wrapping up our Alaska stay in Skagway.

Getting to Juneau, Gustavus and Skagway will require rides on the Alaska Ferry, which will be a new experience for us. We’re looking forward to our trip.

Check back for updates on our travels!
