21st Century Campers

Camping advice without a lot of bull.

We are here to help you enjoy the outdoors with information on where to go, how to camp and what to buy to make your experience the most enjoyable. We’ve been camping for over 50 years in everything from tents to travel trailers and motorhomes. We’re here to share information to make your camping experience more comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it’s planning a trip to a national park, upgrading your RV or buying your first rig, we can help.

Everyone has their own idea of what they want to do and how they want to camp. We love camping in our national parks and other scenic areas. We also like to be comfortable while we’re there and chose a smaller motorhome that fits in most national park campgrounds and outfitted it so we can spend a few days or a week camping without needing hookups. Solar panels give us electricity to run the furnace, microwave or even a hair dryer without firing up the generator.

Our Camper

Our camper is a 2017 Forester 2401WS. It’s just 25 feet long so it’s easy to fit into the small campsites in many national park campgrounds, but it has a full wall slide that opens up to give us quite a bit of living area. Built on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis, its diesel engine gets us an average of just under 14 miles per gallon while still having plenty of power to get over challenging mountain passes. We’ve added solar panels, lithium batteries and a battery monitor to allow us to make extended stays without hookups possible.
